New York March 13 The Thaw trial for the murder of Stanford White paused after a forenoon session in which District Attorney Jerome harshly attacked Thaw and his wife Evelyn Nesbit. The adjournment was requested to allow Delmas to consult authorities and prepare a reply to the prosecutor and to finish a hypothetical question for experts. Jerome said the People hoped to close rebuttal tomorrow evening.
In court the district attorney challenged Evelyn Nesbit’s post Europe confession to Thaw and the alleged lies about Stanford White. He argued Nesbit swore to brutal abuse to avoid signing false statements, while Jerome pressed that Nesbit later repudiated the charges and that the key issue is whether she told Thaw the tale of ill treatment.
Dr. Guy B. Stearns a 36 year old physician of 119 West Thirty second street was arrested on a homicide charge at Boston police request after Miss Susan F. Greene a nurse who died in a Boston hospital claimed an operation related to her illness was performed by him Miss Greene had worked at a hospital in New York and met Stearns professionally at the Catochiset House Wianno Beach Cape Cod
Medical Examiner McDonald performed an autopsy on Miss Susan F. Greene, the Homeopathic Hospital nurse whose death was reported yesterday. The procedure reportedly confirms her prior statements and ties Dr. Guy B. Stearns of New York to the case.

Holyoke March 13 Six Sisters of Charity rescued sixty infants from a burning nursery of the Brightside Institute with rapid action. The building suffered heavy damage though no injuries occurred as firemen struggled with water supply and confined the flames to the small two and a half story structure.
