With the Nahant election four days away sensational charges by Rev. Denver C. Pickens of the Nahant Village Church that liquor interests offered money for yes votes will be investigated today by Essex County District Attorney Louis S. Cox.
During Sunday service Mr. Pickens charged liquor interests with corrupting Nahant and its electorate and said the liquor element debauches the town’s name and its children. He described underage drinking, a girl being thrown from a hotel, and warned the Point’s vice and drunkenness rise yearly. He rejected church bribes for silence.
