Park Employees Rally Over Discharges and Outsider Preference

Park employees union 7064 AF of L held a meeting at Wells Memorial Hall to denounce park commissioners for large lay offs under Mayor Hart. They question continued loam purchases, retention of foremen, outsider contractor Welch of West Roxbury, and non union workers kept while union members were laid off.

Illinois Woman Slays Husband in Sudden Insanity

In Joliet a 50 year old woman, Mrs John Gallagher, attacked her husband with a razor in their home last night and cut his throat from ear to ear. He died before officers could reach the scene. She is confined in jail and two children slept nearby unmolested. She told a neighbor of the act in bloodied night clothes.
