Boston Senate debates on Insurance report and passage of finance Bills

The Massachusetts Senate debated erasing portions of the Insurance Commissioners report and rejected a motion to reconsider the indefinite postponement by a vote of 15 to 20. Bills passed for engros ment include payment in coin of Massachusetts scrip interest and principal and incorporation of the East Boston Freight Railroad Company. The House denied a third reading for a reimbursement bill for city uniforms and provisions. A report proposes amending the 1772 Act Incorporating the Overseers of the Poor of Boston with a nine-member board and election method.
