Halifax March 10 Mary Ellen would not or could not coax out the spooks at the MacDonald home last night. The public was urged to record the event and seek answers from Mary Ellen and her sweetheart while the world waits.
Special officer Joseph A. Tullay reports being held up at gunpoint near 14 East Cottage Street Roxbury by a youth about 20. Harold Oakham, 24, of Taunton, described by police, was arrested on Shirley Street Roxbury for drunkenness and found with a gun. Oakham said he is married with a wife and child in Taunton.
Raymond L. Cleveland of Medford was indicted for fraudulent use of the mails in stock sales of Mastercraft Photoplay Corporation and paid a $500 fine in Federal Court yesterday after pleading not guilty, as accepted by the government and the court.
Taunton March 10 Former Speaker Joseph E Warner testified as the chief witness in a $100000 slander suit against Lieutenant Governor Alvan T Fuller. Warner denied sharing in fees paid to his law partner Harold F Hathaway for appearances before legislative committees during the 1920 Republican nomination campaign. The case is under Judge Nelson P Brown with a jury in the Superior Court.
On the stump, Mr. Fuller linked his rival to a group at the State House he called Ali Baba and the 40 thieves. He alleged these men used public office for private gain as he continued his remarks on page two.
Movie stars visiting Boston as guests of Marcus Loew will bring candy and cigarettes to Parker Hill Hospital next Tuesday afternoon. They seek donations of these items or funds to buy them, to be delivered to the Copley Plaza Hotel or Loew's Orpheum Theatre headquarters.

Augustus Thorndike former bank commissioner under Governor Foss died at his home 191 Commonwealth avenue yesterday age 61. Heart failure caused death. He led the state banking department for nine years before Joseph Allen. Thorndike, East Boston native, headed the Boston Co operative Bank and Winnisimmet National Bank of Chelsea. He once ran for State treasurer in 1911. After leaving office he remodeled the Hotel Thorndike.
John Quigley a three year old of 131 Quincy Street Roxbury was badly cut when a splinter from a shattered fire alarm cable box struck him after an auto truck crashed into the box. The driver fled the scene and did not report the crash.

Two men in a fast car with radiophone gear logged a head on view of an airplane 80 miles per hour overhead.
