Two fires broke out in quick succession at the Oakley Country Club house and its Watertown summer dormitories, with damage estimated at 6500 dollars. The second blaze began as firefighters were leaving the first, three feet from the ground on the building’s exterior, suggesting incendiary origin per Chief John F. Ahearn.

William Chisholm 55 and Harry Dadd 76, residents of Union House at 1051 Washington Street, died last evening in the same building. Dadd passed away around 8 PM and Chisholm at 10:50 PM. Chisholm was employed at the South station news stand and was known to commuters.
