Boston House May Investigate Ward 8 Bribery Case

The legislature orders the committee on election laws to send for persons and papers and hire a stenographer to study voter assessment and registration in Boston. Tragic Auto Crash in Buffalo Ties Pennell to Burdick Case

In Buffalo on March 10 Arthur R. Pennell, linked as corespondent in the Burdick divorce case, was killed when his electric automobile veered over a curb into a quarry on Kensington Avenue near Fillmore. Mrs Pennell was badly hurt, surgeons say with slim chances of recovery. Witness George J. Dunbar and William Lannon saw the vehicle leap the curb. Pennell had just returned from a meeting about the Burdick matter and had spoken of serious business weighed on him. Police seek the route of the car as Mrs Pennell lingers. A separate suit by Miss Marion W. Hutchinson against the police seeks damages for alleged reputational harm.

Waltham Train Crash Near Bridge Sparks Narrow Escape

A head on collision between a Marlboro local and an Oakdale freight near a bridge over Lyman Pond in Waltham forced engineers to leap into the water. Firemen and ambulances responded as passengers endured a terrifying upheaval with minor injuries and widespread shock.

Dr. Ames in Court Today in Manchester

Dr. Albert A. Ames former Minneapolis mayor and fugitive is lodged at the Manchester House tonight. He is due to appear before Judge Pike in the Superior Court tomorrow to decide on habeas corpus petitions or extradition to Minnesota. Ames traveled 62 miles from Hancock with some fatigue and is represented by US District Attorney Hamblett of Nashua. Minnesota’s counsel Taggard Tuttle Burroughs is retained by Sheriff Dreger.

Probe death near Westerly mystery murder case

Authorities in Westerly Rhode Island and Stonington Connecticut opened a murder probe after the body of Antonio Cisco was found in a Pawcatuck River cave near the Connecticut line. Cisco, missing since December 31 1902, had two head wounds that did not resemble stiletto injuries. A 10 year old girl named Pansy Judson found the body. Early examination suggested the body had not been in the water long.

Death of Mrs Barnier in Haverhill

Marie Barnier died at Hale Hospital in Sun day from cirrhosis of the liver. Relatives found bruises and contusions on the body and an autopsy showed assault as a contributing cause. She was taken to the hospital shortly before death and police conduct an inquiry.
