Thomas Donaldson of Bath Beach New York a famed high diver leaped from the Madison Square Garden roof diving for two dives daily. He struck water head first suffered a fractured skull and brain compression and died within hours. Harry Cornish directed the dive and Harry Reeder helped pull him from the pool as witnesses watched in horror. Donaldson 45 weighed over 200 pounds and had performed with Barnum & Bailey.
