Twelfth Gubernatorial Debate in Portsmouth
In Portsmouth on March 7 the twelfth gubernatorial discussion between Mesers Sinclair and Harriman drew a crowded Temple despite a driving storm. Har riman opened and closed with anti-Democratic themes while Sinclair argued constitutional principles and reconstruction justice, delivering one of the campaign’s best speeches. The meeting boosted Sinclair’s standing and predicted a Democratic gain at Strawberry Bank on Tuesday.
