Tokens on Bay State Car Lines

Bay State Street Railway riders will switch to metal tokens from paper tickets with Fall River first to receive the change. Receiver Wallace B. Denham says the roll-out will be gradual across 900 miles of road as fare boxes are installed and conductors trained. Tokens are Liberty silver, slightly smaller than a dime, with Bay State on one side and City Zone Fare District 2 on the other. Each token has seven cent value, sold five for 25 cents, and passenger fare remains the same as paper tickets.
