The three masted schooner Wellfleet of Boston was driven ashore amid a terric storm on the outer bar of Diamond Shoals near Cape Hatteras. Her captain and eight crewmen reached shore safely in their own boat after a night of pounding seas.
The Wellfleet schooner bound from Baltimore to Charleston with phosphate rock ran aground near a shoal after a fierce gale. Captain W E Rutledge and crew, aboard from Everett Massachusetts, reached Big Skeinnakep seven miles north of Cape Hatteras after hours in heavy seas.
W J Rowan a telephone boy testified in bankruptcy hearings of Lathrop Haskins C as three stock exchange firms failed in the Hocking pool collapse. Creditors seek to prove Mr Keene responsible for the collapse while Ronan says Keene knew nothing and Ronan kept the stock in his vault in the Produce Exchange.
An old advertisement extols Dr Hilton's Specific No 3 as the cure and preventive for pneumonia and colds. It touts Little Sugar Pellets for children and urges mothers to use the remedy to safeguard their kids against epidemic pneumonia.
The ninth annual automobile show in Boston draws large crowds at Mechanics Building and Huntington Avenue. Outside demonstrations run cars in motion while inside feature modern cars and accessories. Military and society nights draw officials and residents, with planners praising the exhibit as the best arranged show in eight years.
In Sharon Massachusetts Mrs Samuel Colt reports a young man about 25, well dressed with two check books and checks for 400 and 500 dollars snatched her pocketbook on a subway train. He identified himself as John J Shaughnessy electrical engineer and inventor and was detained by police for examination despite his good standing.
In Montreal on March 6 Dr. Charles St. Pierre donated a pint of his blood to Mrs. Vermette at Hotel Dieu Hospital after two relatives failed to donate. The transfusion was successful and the patient showed improvement while the doctor recovered with little discomfort.
In Seattle on March 6, G Milo Beldon trailed Stuart Morris Hulin an Orpheum circuit actor from Franklin Penn and arrested him in Portland for slashing braids of several young women Detectives found two large boxes overflowing with braids in his room Hulin claimed he could not explain his urge to clip hair and was linked to Miss Helen Lawrence from Marlboro Mass
A freight and locomotive crew raced ten miles in minutes along the Danbury division to reach South Norwalk. Brakeman Jay W. Mallory choked on a chicken bone, engineer Wilkinson towed the caboose toward safety, and Dr. H. B. West removed the bone on the caboose floor. Mallory survived and was recovering aboard the train.
Kate Gibbons a servant was arrested in Philadelphia on March 6 charged with attempting to poison the Grove family by placing strychnine in their drinking water. It is alleged she confessed. The Grove family is prominent socially with the head of the family a son of the president of the William Cramp Ship and Engine Building Company.
J. E. Walker mayor of Pineville La was shot and killed in court today by William McManus after a row over district court litigation. McManus captured and jailed.
Red Sox Yannigans win in Redlands California as rain halts Red Sox Regulars in San Francisco. Augusta hosts Boston Nationals start while Nova Scotia curlers defeat Boston Curling Club in curling action.
Ipsen and Ivankowski, ages 19 and 22, were executed at Charles Town State Prison for the murder of Lynn shoe manufacturer Thomas Landregan and Patrolman James Carroll. Ipsen greeted an official, while Ivankowski laughed and spoke Russian as the electric chair delivered the death. Father Muller prayed beside Ipsen.

A 66 year old Brookline real estate owner and US Customs messenger married Miss Margaret Gertrude Mahon 30 at the Mission Church Roxbury. The bride is the daughter of Thomas Mahon of 706 Huntington Avenue and had cared for her ill father for years. The ceremony was performed by Rev Michael O Connor on February 16 and the couple will live in Dorchester.
Spokane police hold John Steele and Stuart Moffett after arrests Friday night amid alleged plans to assassinate Mayor N S Pratt and Captain John T Sullivan. Detective Captain Martin J Burns said Steele boasted of high anarchist ties and a Taft murder plot upon leaving Washington after Congress adjourned.
Lady Tennessee Claflin Cook of England is ill at the Congress Hotel fearing for her life due to threatening letters and messages from alleged relatives of her first husband. She pleads to be secretly removed from the city and has canceled a Springfield engagement with Chicago suffragists.

The couple married after a brief courtship. he was a travelling salesman for a Boston firm.
Police reveal name of former ex Senator tied to alleged municipal lumber frauds in a secret fold. Captains order arrest on sight. fugitive under surveillance at known haunts. DA Pelletier and Superintendent Pierce led the action after talks. inspector Wolf met with defense counsel but no surrender occurred.

He said he came to New York to aid a client Landino whose wife had taken their child to New York and agreed to return to Pittsfield before changing her mind and jumping off a train at Grand Central.
In New York 50 000 teamsters will vote tomorrow night on a general strike in sympathy with grocery wagon drivers who recently struck for uniform hours.
