East Boston Man Disappears at 85

James J. Fitzpatick of 44 Lamson Street East Boston vanished Sunday evening after saying he would take a walk. The 85 year old, unmarried and partially demented since a bat injury years ago, is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, 150 pounds with a smooth face and brown hair. He wore a gray overcoat and black derby hat and police across the surrounding area have been notified.

Papers signed on the largest Newton real estate deal since Commonwealth avenue boulevard opening. The Rice estate tract runs from Commonwealth avenue to Ward street with 40 foot frontage on the avenue and 600 feet on Ward Street, totaling about 400000 square feet. Police Chief Proposes 3 New Officers for Night Coverage

Chief Lothrop J. Cloyes released the annual report urging three new police positions. Two would serve District 1 Ward 5 and one for District 2 to assure Massachusetts Avenue is patrolled from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. He also recommends buying six additional signal boxes for Districts 1 and 2.
