Senator Lodge submits a GOP list read into records and frames a resolution denouncing the present draft. He calls for quick peace with Germany and stresses the plan’s acceptance is not considered.
Unprecedented crowds watched Senate and House as the Republican filibuster halted the wheat bill and other measures. Formal efforts for agreements did not avail, with adjournment set for noon tomorrow as the Sixty fifth Congress neared its end.
In the Senate the minority filibuster tied up the General Deficiency bill carrying a 750 million dollar railroad administration appropriation while the House stalled on the 1 billion wheat guarantee bill which passed late tonight and awaits the President's signature. Republican senators said obstruction targeted the railroad fund to block other legislation though the deficiency bill is seen as likely to pass. Democratic leaders warned the measure is in jeopardy and a Republican move to disapprove the League of Nations draft and press for an early peace treaty added tension with Senator Lodge preparing the resolution.
Thirty six of the one hundred Boston City Hospital nurses who served with Base Hospital No 7 of the American Expeditionary Forces in France arrived in New York today. They join doctors from the same hospital unit, bringing reports of their wartime service and experiences abroad.

The commission outlines three main western frontier areas Alsace Lorraine the Briey and Saar iron coal region and the Rhine valley north of Palatinate The plan favors ceding Alsace Lorraine to France without a plebiscite and permanent military occupation It also aims to deprive Germany of key iron and coal resources by transferring sections to France through the return of Lorraine
A Brooklyn woman Gertrude Wormworth 27 fired two shots at detective agency head William J. Burns as he entered Grand Central Station. Neither shot took effect. She was arrested and taken to Bellevue Hospital for mental observation. Burns did not know her.
MADRID March 3 The Franco Spanish tunnel under the Pyrenees linking Puigoerda in eastern Spain and Ax in France has been completed. The span between Puigoerda and Ax runs about 20 miles.
Police begin a New England investigation into a man’s death at a South End lodging house amid fears of foul play. The missing man resembles Dr. Allen B. Curtis of Manchester New Hampshire who has been absent since Thursday and was found dead Saturday at 11 Upton Street. Authorities probe possible robbery or murder or a motive not yet known.
A man found dead Saturday appears connected to Dr. Curtis of Manchester though theories vary from foul play to suicide over disputed affairs with a woman signing as M. D. S. The deceased bore spiritualist and astrological pamphlets while the missing doctor recently left town. Police await a chemist report to identify the poison involved.
President Wilson signed the Victory Loan bill authorizing the Treasury to issue seven billion dollars in short term notes and providing one billion dollars to the War Finance Corporation to boost the United States foreign commerce.

Most states have road programs, but several governors noted difficulty in convincing local authorities and private industries to proceed now without waiting for further signals.
