The judge ruled challenges were out of order while lawyer pressed why if the claimant is an impostor he isn’t prosecuted. Russell delayed arrest, saying the stranger should be given a chance. A remark followed about arrest timing as the identity hearing reached its 100th day.
Chicago traders reported sheep selling at 510 dollars per hundred, the highest price ever recorded in the city market on March 3. Several dealers noted strong demand from buyers and mills amid tight supplies.
A Boston journeyman wheelwright named Brown fell 25 feet from a loft in the shop of W. T. Ettinger in Hull. John Thorburn, standing below, caught Brown and braced the impact, saving him from injury as Brown landed on his feet after plunging through a hole.

Coleman on a charge of aiding and abetting Coleman in the wilful misapplication of bank funds. federal inspectors describe a large, intricate conspiracy and say bank officials may be ignorant of the true state of affairs. Further arrests of prominent business men tied to Coleman are expected.
Dr George L True of Cambridge plans to present to District Attorney Pelletier a Brookline real estate dealer who lost 50 600 in a November faro bunco. The dealer, with Charas Bostwick, was caught in a fast-money trim attempt on the pattern of the Boston gang. Pelletier foretells grand jury indictments to convict the bunco syndicate.
