Gypsy romance ends in contested marriages and returns

In a village a gipsy girl elopes with Mr Fry after his love wins her consent against her father's wishes. The old gypsies abduct her for a reward, and she is forced into a father’s custody. Two years pass with no news, then Mr Fry remarries a second wife. The gypsy wife reappears with George Fry the second, aided by Officer Shade, claiming rights to him as scandal swirls and rumors spread of a missing husband in California. The outcome remains unknown.
