Massachusetts House Debates Loring Removal and Consolidation

The Boston legislature debates the removal of Judge Loring and a consolidation bill. Andrew moves to adjourn and to assign the bill for Wednesday. a 102 to 93 vote follows. Supporters argue merit on each issue. opponents urge precedence for removal. Several speeches address Governor Banks and procedural tactics. a previous question fails 3 to 186. The house then assigns the bill for next Wednesday and adjourns.

Speculators in Theatre Tickets Move To Tighten Law

The senate judiciary committee was instructed to consider extending the hawkers and pedlars law to curb itinerant ticket sellers for theatres and public amusements. Rev. Mr Prince of Essex offered the motion.
