Ephraim Sayres a Hyde Park weaver, intoxicated with the night, hurled a frozen mud filled shoe through a fruit shop window on Norman street triggering a mob scene. Patrolman Wyman intervened. Sayres was detained as Italians surged with threats of vengeance. Sayres was later confined in a cell.
