Senate Proceedings Delayed By Edmunds In March Session
Washington reports show Senator Edmunds resisting hurry ups during a long session. The Senate read the journal, passed pension bills, amended the naval appropriation, and set conferences on the consular and diplomatic bill. The river and harbor bill changed from 7.5 million to 9.9 million, then was read to completion. Conference reports were approved without discussion as resolutions honored late New York representatives Arnot Beach and Dewdney. Bridges were authorized from New York to Long Island and across major rivers at Kansas City Omaha Keokuk.
