The agreement reached after six o clock tonight to vote at 1 30 p m tomorrow on the resolution to unseat Senator Lorimer of Illinois and to make unfinished business of the tariff board bill alters the legislative outlook. A Taft message on the Cummins inquiry was left unread and will be laid before the Senate.
Amid intense interest and mutual suspicion, the senate faced a heated night session over Lorimer and tariff board members. The room held a scattered group of senators divided on policy as the impasse lingered into late hours.
Mayor Pitzgeral A refused to approve the Board of Street Commissioners order changing Court Street between Washington and Scollay to State Street. The move cannot proceed this year since street names cannot change after March 1. Objectors had planned to seek Highway Commission action.

In Chicago on February 28 1924 voters nominated Carter Harrison Democrat for mayor and Merriam Republican for the direct primary. Harrison led Dunne by under two thousand votes with Merriam close to the four Republican rivals combined. Final precinct totals show Harrison 55900 plus rivals, Merriam 54298, Scully 1210, Thompson 26108, Murray 2823, Smulski 24167.
Frederick W. Hayes, five, of 16 Rexford Street Dorchester, is in Cit Hospital with three broken ribs after Engine 19 crashed into an electric light pole near the Norfolk Street station. Engineers John T. Weston and Morris H Fernan, and Assistant Engineer Daniel J. Murphy were shaken up. the hose wagon narrowly avoided collision. The crash occurred after an alarm for a $12,000 fire at William Wallace's garage on Brush Fill Road.
The House approved the general deficiency bill carrying 8 060 126 at midnight after a viva voce vote and adjourned. It rejected a Palmer amendment to strike the bonding bureau section and adopted Tawney's amendment to raise crime detection funds from 25 000 to 45 000 based on the Attorney General's warning of inadequate staffing.
