In New London on June 29 Harvard is the favorite to win the four mile Thames River race against Yale for 1911. Yale has shown marked improvement since June 4 and could challenge the Crimson after a season of hard training and rising form.
Fair conditions extend through Friday and Saturday for Boston and nearby areas with light variable winds. New England also remains fair with rising temperatures, especially in the western portions, and moderate north to east winds forecast.
West End stockholders show mixed support for a 7 per cent consolidation bill amid legislative moves to block passage. The West End protective committee argues the exchange is fair and urges public backing to ensure the measure passes. The Brookline Country Club was named in a liquor nuisance charge in Brookline Municipal Court. In dense fog off Cape Cod last night the Savannah line steamer Nacoochee, bound for Boston, struck the fishing schooner Catherine and Ellen. All 23 men aboard the schooner abandoned ship and were rescued uninjured by the Nacoochee, which sustained only slight damage.
The Nacoochee carrying passengers including many women collided in fog off Cape Cod at latitude 42.11 north and longitude 70.20 west. Captain Munson directed rescue operations as a nearby schooner Catherine Hen reported all 28 crew aboard safe and uninjured.

Residents dispute authorities view of death by gas poisoning claiming a violent Tuesday night quarrel near the Mansur house. Witnesses recall a sudden cry for help and a visible disturbance before the old man’s death was reported as self-inflicted.
