In the second session of the state arbitration investigation at the State House witnesses recited grievances about the Elevated carmen joining the union. James Kearn Jr. a 5 year old of 44 Morton avenue Medford died yesterday after sustaining burns Thursday while burning paper in his yard. He was the son of James Kearn.
A blaze at a five story brick building at 19 Harvard Place caused panic in the Old South Theatre and Province House guests fled as smoke drifted into Parker House. Firemen fought the flames past 10 pm with uncertainty over the fate of silversmith Richard Dimes on the fifth floor and damage estimated at 10000 dollars.
