A storm hit Regina at 450 p m from the south destroying many frame structures. The government telephone building collapsed and relief crews search for the dead. The power plant is out and the city is dark tonight. Two fires started but firefighters control remains. All city vehicles are used as ambulances.

Four Somerville youths nearly drowned when a cat boat overturned at Quannapowitt Pond Wakefield yesterday afternoon. Two Wakefield boys in a power boat saved them as about a hundred canoeists looked on with alarm.

Frank Williams 18 and three companions from Somerville and Wakefield were canoeing on the pond when a squall capsized the craft. Morrison swam to Williams, Robinson seized Williams after Williams resurfaced, and Dewey Jr and Humphreys pursued by motor boat. Williams was revived with help from Officer Preston.

Salem police uncovered concealed liquor in a wholesale drug store raid. Electrically worked trap doors concealed the stash, which officers disclosed as part of the operation conducted on June 30.
