Labor Factions Push Free Transfers and Union Aims
A Boston labor gathering discussed free transfers and cheaper fares, denouncing the Legislature’s actions and pledging ongoing agitation. The unions backed government ownership of telegraphs and telephones, and urged party platforms to include this plank. Building trades debated union labor on church projects and school repairs, with committees to lobby Archbishop Williams and Mayor Quincy.
