The Manchester Mirror argues the Manchester and Lawrence railroad cannot be leased to the Boston & Maine without legislative approval. It says the syndicate controlling the road seeks a lease at 10 percent or, failing that, to sell at a large profit to the Concord railroad, potentially for 300 dollars a share, to block competition.
