In LaCrosse Wisconsin June 27 a burglar entered John Webber’s house through a window as his daughters Kate and Lena slept. Lena aged 18 was fatally stabbed as she tried to flee while Lene avoided the knife. Police have twenty arrests. lynching threat looms if caught.

The ground floor will house commercial space the second floor reception rooms and the lodge room banquet hall and kitchen occupy the third floor with a building committee authorized to spend what is needed to complete the project.
Burlington June 27 Great excitement followed the report that Dr Eugene Thayer renowned New York organist and Summer School of Music figure shot himself after walking with his wife Mrs Thayer She found him later with a revolver in hand and noted his gloom and head pains He leaves a wife a son and two young daughters.
