Dorchester High School 43rd Exhibition Awards Diplomas

The forty third annual Dorchester High School exhibition was held yesterday at 10 o clock before a large crowd. Sixteen students earned Advanced class diplomas and many more received Senior class honors in a well arranged program of sixteen numbers with strong audience applause.

Yale Holds 575 Graduates at 175th Commencement

At New Haven on June 26 Yale University awarded diplomas to 575 seniors marking the institution’s 175th year. The ceremony in Battell Chapel included no valedictorian or Townsend prizes, honorary degrees to notable figures, and music by the Symphony Orchestra under Professor Parker.

The Everett Webster out of Philadelphia collided with a lumber laden schooner near Pollock Rip Lightship and now motor s toward Chatham with jibboom loss. The Lavinia Campbell was dragged by the Maud Briggs while anchored in Vineyard Sound, causing martingale damage. A British steamer report notes heavy ice and numerous icebergs between latitudes 49.20 and 48.49 north and longitudes 48.30 and 49.37 west near Philadelphia.

The Jubilee fitting out makes rapid progress. The centreboard was shipped with a diver, the boom and gaff were aboard, and standing rigging set. Patrolman Philpotts Dead in Charlestown

Patrolman Robert G. Philpotts of Station 15 died at his home 278 Bunker Hill Street Charlestown yesterday morning. Born in Ireland July 4 1853 he came to this country young and joined the city police March 15 1884. He served at Stations 8 15 14 and again 15 before his death. He was well and favorably known throughout Charlestown.

Nathaniel H. Seavey of Winter Hill died suddenly at the Charlestown Navy Yard yesterday morning after forty years of service there. He appeared in good health before leaving home, and was found dead by fellow workers upon arrival at the yard.

Pipe Accident Injures Two Men at Strout Building

In Lynn yesterday afternoon at the Strout building Blake street two steam fitters for the L. A. May Company were crushed when a half ton coil of steam pipe toppled onto them. John Harrison suffered severe head wounds and internal injuries. Elbridge F. Connor had both legs broken and other injuries. Harrison is not expected to recover and Connor resides at 64 Newhall.

Watertown Lawn Party For Free Home For Consumptives

An evening lawn party and sale in Watertown raised funds for the Free Home for Consumptives. Organized by local and nearby town young ladies, the event drew a large crowd with afternoon children's entertainment and evening music. Proceeds expected to total several hundred dollars.
