Washington reports that wartime prohibition may end quickly after it goes into effect next Tuesday or be halted by the President, marking a pivotal decision on the policy.
Mrs Bessie Mae Skeels Lundgren testified as the first witness in her defense against murder charges in the death of Miss Florence W. Gay and against New Jersey authorities accusation of homicide. Paris reports France will demand complete reparation from Germany for the sinking of German warships at Scapa Flow. Minister of marine M. Leygues told the naval committee that the act violated both the armistice and the peace treaty.
Bay State transit workers vote to end the strike by more than three to one. Car service will resume this morning as conductors, motormen, and other employees return to work and restore service, especially in northern Boston.
At Quincy House a meeting of the ten local unions declared off a 3500 worker strike after a day of special meetings and a poll showing overwhelming support to end the strike. A conference with company management may be held today arranged by John H. Reardon of the International.
In Chickamauga Park Georgia June 24 1919 Dr Karl Muck once conductor of the Boston Symphony tells a Post reporter that Germans have no place in America in business or art and that he has no plan to stay or return and his future may be anything as he faces an uncertain fate in wartime captivity.

The German delegation will arrive at Versailles Friday morning and is expected to sign the peace treaty at about 2 PM. Premier Clemenceau, Lloyd George, and President Wilson were informed of the timing while reviewing signing arrangements. Hermann Mueller will head the German delegation.
