Lynch appoints Quigley to National League umpiring staff

New York June 24. President Lynch announced the appointment of E. C. Quigley, an International League umpire, to the National League umpiring staff. Quigley was formerly director of athletics at Kansas University Ogieles.

The body of Edward Walsh aged 6 was found about 9 30 last night in the mud off Edmands wharf behind 445 Medford street Charlestown. He had been missing from home since 5 oclock. The lad drowned and it is believed he waded out beyond his depth while not undressed.

Murderer Vincenzo Arrested After Woburn Farm Killing

Luigi Vincenzo a farm hand, who shot Evangelos Kagiazias and wounded his two brothers at the Marshall farm in Woburn, has been captured in Italy. Police will bring witnesses to Cambridge for depositions to forward for extradition and trial.

Missing mother and children found in odd caretaker report

Mrs James Brown aged 27 of 90 Warrenton Street South End is missing. Her four children Dorothea six James Jr three Phyllis one and Beatrice seven are in the care of 12 year old Dorothy Donovan of 38 Warrenton Street.

Mail Men’s Big Day Backstage Plans for July Fourth Outing

Boston postal district letter carriers met at the main post office to plan the second annual outing set for Friday July 4 at New Downer Landing. About 5000 postal workers and families are expected. Boston Letter Carriers Band and Golden’s orchestra will provide music. Seven-Stripe L Man Found Dead in Bed

Frank Sturtevant, 68, of 1560 Cambridge Street Cambridge, was found dead in bed yesterday morning by his daughter Annie. He was one of the oldest Boston Elevated Railway Company employees and a seven-stripe man with 37 years of service. He began with the L in 1876 as a horse-car driver in Arlington. He leaves one daughter Annie, a Wellesley graduate of 1908.
