Arlington report says William Ryan, 77 Beacon Street, is near death at Waltham Hospital after a Belmont evening shooting. He and his brother Michael encountered four foreigners believed to be Poles or Italians on Prospect Street. William was shot in the left cheek, head, and chest. Michael suffered a scalp wound. No suspects found.
Relatives of 65 year old Robert Wells of 3087 Washington Street Roxbury fear he died during a sick spell while walking through Franklin Park. Wells disappeared Thursday noon after leaving his home on an errand and has not been seen since. He lived with his daughter Mrs. Alexander Hamilton for 10 years.
Pasquale Pancpella of Revere became involved in a quarrel tonight with his father in law Michaelo Deatrice. Deatrice sustained a neck slash requiring five stitches at Frost Hospital. Pancpella was arrested.

Vincenzo Cafarella a 25 year old laborer residing at 270 Pearl Street Newton fired a revolver in the North End last night after a drunken quarrel and assault. He fatally wounded Michael Benincasa 15 of 161 North Street and chased another youth through crowded streets before bystanders knocked him down and held him for police.
At about seven pm at the corner of Richmond and North streets Cafarella, in a drunken attack, fired at Bentacasa injuring him in the back while Cafarella fought with Albert Simone. La Court intervened knocking Cafarella unconscious as bystanders helped subdue him.
