Charles B. Silsbury a 57 year old Roxbury real estate broker living at 586 Blue Hill avenue died of injuries after being struck June 11 on Dudley street by an auto. Police say the car was driven by Abraham A. Levine of 101 Intervale street Roxbury. Levine to be arraigned this morning in Roxbury court on manslaughter charges.
The Yankee Division veterans who are physically or financially disabled will be invited to the July 4 reunion and grand review in Boston. The Women's Auxiliary voted to cover transportation for those unable to pay and to provide box lunches for wounded or disabled men whether at hospitals or home.
Tyngsboro June 23 Maude Sheehan and Hazel Bixby two Bon Marche Lowell employees drowned in the Merrimack River while boating or attempting rescue. The incident prompted official inquiries and searches for the missing victims.
Charles Holmes and Augustus Bottomley, once believed buried in the New Bedford Men's Mission ruins, reappeared at the mission building this afternoon after being reported missing for hours following the morning fire.
New York June 23 police will pour liquor valued at 50000 into the sewers under orders from Judge Talley of General Sessions. The action follows arrests and confiscations in a crackdown on illegal liquor.
An explosion at Joseph A. Sweeney’s vulcanizing shop on 566 Columbia road Roxbury destroyed the shop and about 200 tires. The blast also blew out windows in a three story brick block and damaged the adjoining barber shop at 564 Columbia road. One man suffered severe facial and body burns and was rushed to City Hospital. Damage estimated at $4000.
A Central News Dublin dispatch claimed President Eamonn De Valera was arrested last night and released today without charge. The Daily Mail later said the arrested man at Blackrock resembled De Valera and was freed after inquiry.
Joseph Grantfield, 35, of 74 Bishop Avenue Bridgeport Conn, attempts suicide after being chased by Patrolman Shea on Portland Street. Grantfield drew a 22 pistol and shot himself in the breast, then tried to shoot himself again. He was placed on the dangerous list at the Relief station with drugs found on his person.
Charlotte N. Mitchell, 17, of 33 Montvale Street, Roslindale, won the Washington-nklin medal for the best American history essay at West Roxbury High School graduation exercises. Her prize essay was deemed among the best from a Boston high school and ordered copied and filed with the records.

Then exhausted she carried the unconscious woman to shallow water where Mrs James Conrad assisted to shore.
Pansy Barros of Brava Cape Verde Islands arrived in New Bedford yesterday after a voyage as steward on a yacht that had been on a treasure hunt for pirate gold. She is noted for often reaching port in unusual ways and has previously survived shipwrecks on the journey.
In the American League yesterday New York defeated Boston 6 to 1 Chicago beat Cleveland 6 to 0 Philadelphia topped Washington 5 to 3 St Louis won over Detroit 6 to 4 in 12 innings.
