Seven near death at joy ride ends in crash and escape
A new five thousand dollar car owned by Mrs Estelle P Stuart Clark of Boston crashed through about 100 feet of Nahant road fence and toppled down a 15 foot embankment onto railroad tracks at dawn. Driver Richard Magnussen, a chauffeur, fled. three girls around sixteen were injured but survived. Two other passengers were uninjured. Curtis and Davis helped the girls to a hospital then to Boston as they had little money. Magnussen disappeared after the crash despite earlier custody of the car.
