A severe electrical storm swept over Greater Boston early last evening. Lightning struck houses, chimneys, poles and trees while giant hailstones caused widespread destruction. Temperature fell 12 degrees in 10 minutes and a calm June breeze turned into a roaring wind and heavy downpour.
London reports the second day of coronation week features a royal banquet at Buckingham Palace. King and Queen host international dignitaries, cabinet members, and church and military leaders in the ball room and picture gallery. Royal gold plate worth an estimated 15 million dollars, plus antique decanters, cut glass, and wines, dominate the table decor. Continued on Page 2.

The Elementary School Teachers' Association, about two thousand members, hissed the school board in Huntington Hall. They protested the board's rejection of the McMorrow bill to raise salaries, rising in a unified, vociferous display.
After two hours the chairman announced no agreement on any legislation was possible. He said arbitration and conciliation would be pursued until the teachers achieve their aim, and another meeting would be held on Monday at Contincted On Page 2-Fourth Column.
Earle L. Ovington and Harry N. Atwood, two local fliers, concluded a remarkable aviation meet at Waltham after a week of sensational flights and few accidents. Their feats drew national attention for navigation advances in flying.
In New Haven on June 20 Harvard defeated Yale 8 to 2 before about 15 000 hostile spectators. Harvard started strong and led from the first inning, resisting noise and never relinquishing control of the game.
In Greater Boston two aviators charged through a 60 mile gale at Wal tham aerodrome. Atwood climbed to 1000 feet in a white-wing bi plane while lightning flashed above storm clouds. He completed one flight before sunset. Ovington flew twice, each landing after the wind toyed with his machine. Continued on Page 2-Third Column.
Crowds filled the stands on commencement day as Yale faced a harsh loss. Parades featured triennial class reps dating back to 1871 in festive costumes before the game. Harvard showed strong batting as they peppered Yale with powerful hits, shocking Yale supporters.
Storms battered Malden Newton Dedham and neighboring towns with lightning hail and wind. Fire and flooding caused thousands in losses including a Dedham dwelling fire and a factory chimney collapse in Brighton. Glass shattered in Roslindale and volatile winds toppled trees and disrupted wiring systems across the area.
Forecast for Boston and vicinity calls for a unsettled Wednesday with local showers in north and east portions. Thursday should be fair with moderate northwest to north winds across New England.
Yesterday's readings show a high of 84 degrees and a low around 64. The daily average near 67 to 72 with evening near 75 and overnight around 71. Compared to last year, yesterday's average was 74 with similar daily pattern.
Marie LaPlante, mother of the La Plante Sisters milliners, says she will press murder charges against a well known Lynn man for the death of her son Francois. Residents express astonishment at the accusation amid the city’s shock.
Francois LaPlante, missing since Feb 15 198, is alleged by his mother to be murdered. She claims the accused wears the coat and owns the watch of the missing man. Inspectors Murray and Kane expect an arrest and a search of the burial site today as daughters describe their mother as mentally unwell and deny the accusations.
National league scores show New York victory over Boston by margin in a rough lineup. Pittsburg beat Chicago 8 to 3 as Philadelphia edged Brooklyn in ten innings. American league results include New York 9 Boston 0 and Detroit 8 Cleveland 6. Harvard defeats Yale 8 to 2. Nat Niles extends tennis title as racing at the Country Club proceeds.
