Vessels Collide Off Nausett In Night Sea Crash
Five seamen escaped death when the schooner Hunter lumber laden was rammed by the schooner Mary F Hall off Nausett late Saturday night. The Hunter sank into a wreck with six feet of water in her hold while the Hall suffered little damage. The Hunter, built in 1876 at Orland Maine and home port Boston, was towed to Boston after the collision. Captain Finlay and the watch were knocked down as the vessels collided and the crew fled the cabin. Captain Haskell of the Hall stayed alongside through the night to assist the endangered crew.

Two Rescues From Water Off South Boston Beach
Edward MacMackin Jr rescued J H Kohler and C E Bray from drowning after their fishing rowboat swamped in a gale off South Boston yesterday afternoon. MacMackin in the power boat Gracie saved the men as they went down. Kohler was nearly unconscious when brought aboard.
