Roosevelt Loses Second Battle at Convention and Hadley Lead
At Chicago on June 19 the Roosevelt forces suffered another defeat as Governor Hadley led a bid to purge the temporary rolls and seat 92 Roosevelt delegates in place of 92 Taft delegates. Debates stretched over hours with interruptions from both sides and clashes among delegates, ending with a continued fight over credentials and seating.
