Driving contest highlights Hoosie Whisick event at Canton

At the Hoosie Whisick Club open golf event in Canton on June 18, players were divided into three classes for a 3 1/2 hole medal contest. E. J. B. Yale and Harvard Crews Observe Each Other on Cold Thames

Yale and Harvard varsity and four-oar crews met on the Thames at Yale quarters in Conn to observe each other amid rough water. Newton Centre Golf Club hosts large field in morning contests

June 18 at Newton Centre Golf Club a wide field competed in driving, approaching and putting events. E M Noyes won the drive with 170 yards, W M Noble 165 yards. J A Daniels led the short game with 12 strokes as afternoon play determined spring cup qualifiers to be announced tomorrow by the tournament committee.
