Elaborate Charlestown observance for Soldiers' Monument in Arlington

The 112th anniversary of the battle of Bunker Hill will be observed with a major Charlestown celebration including an excursion and banquet for Southern visitors, two ball games, many events, and a veteran parade. The Seventeenth of June Association leads a morning procession from Bunker Hill to Monument Square with detailed routes and officers, plus an afternoon march past City square and Monument Square. Additional parades include veteran militia units, with Marine escort and Confederate Veterans, a banquet at Faneuil Hall, open-house social events, and a Bunker Hill Monument Association meeting. A separate Arlington Soldiers' Monument dedication features a 10:30 am parade to the monument, with Judge Hardy as chief marshal, bands, and numerous posts from across New England. A noon dinner in a large tent will follow with speeches from invited dignitaries.
