The Aero pair achieve a remarkable flight at 120 miles an hour through fog and rain, landing precisely on the chosen point. The journey thrills with peril as they even fly upside down in the fog and suffer a landing injury to the machine.
Captain John Alcock and Lieutenant Arthur W. Brown landed on the Irish coast after a 16 hour 12 minute flight from Newfoundland to Clifden Ireland. The Vickers Vimy faced fog and mist but completed the perilous crossing without accident. Brown, an American by enlistment in the British Air Force, helped achieve this historic milestone in aviation.
In Galway a Daily Mail message from Captain Alcock and Lieutenant Brown recalls a terrible journey across the sea. They describe dense fog at times forcing descent to 300 feet above water and four hours with their aircraft iced by frozen sleet.

U S troops moved into Mexico as 3600 soldiers from the 24th Infantry Fourth Battalion and cavalry regiments entered Juarez and the El Paso area to halt cross-border fire. Fighting resumed in Juarez with intensified rifle fire as federal troops charged rebels along Calle Comercion.
Colonel J. Gonzales Escobar was wounded five times and rushed to El Paso for care as fighting shifted south of town near the abandoned Juarez Agricultural College. Villa forces held 70 wounded there while Federals retreated toward the town, reinforcing from Fort Hidalgo and the flats. Villa looted shops at night. authorities report 160 Villa dead and 60 prisoners with 10 wounded, amid rumors of executions.
On Belmont street in Brockton on the Taunton road, a car hit a group killing Miss Muriel Smith 15 Miss Hazel Polard 18 and Irving Taft 18. August Lawson 18 was critically injured. Driver Walter Chessman 190 Boylston St Brockton was arrested for manslaughter. The vehicle owner John F Kedian rushed victims to Brockton Hospital where all but Lawson died.
Forecasts call for local showers in Boston Monday with cooler conditions. Tuesday brings mostly cloudy skies and fresh northerly winds, while eastern New York and Southern New England expect showers Monday and gradually improving conditions Tuesday with a mix of clouds and sun. Northern New England shows showers Monday and fair weather Tuesday with some coastal showers eastward.
