Forepaughs circus and menagerie train reached Boston from Worcester at dawn. About 400 canvasmen and roustabouts rushed to set up a circle of tents around the sawdust ring near Mechanics' building West Chester park and Boylston street. The boss canvasman directed crews while the first assistant kept his name out of papers. A minor train delay occurred. Afternoon shows featured Buck and six cowboys, a Deadwood stagecoach, and a mixed caravan with Sioux and Pawnee chiefs.
