Legislature May Prorogue After Week of Sessions
Senator Glines reported that the Legislature may be prorogued on Saturday after sessions held each day of the week. A resolve providing 425 for the heir of Peter Avignon who died in the war was passed to be engrossed under suspension of rules. The Massachusetts Civil Service Reform League remonstrance against the soldiers exemption bill argues the policy harms public service despite veteran sentiment.
