A June night wind storm 12 miles north of Abilene caused extensive damage along Dickinson and Clay counties. Thirteen structures including houses barns and stables were blown down. Injuries occurred and a child died. Industry in Clay county was nearly wiped out with nearly every building destroyed except two. Wakefield, also in Clay county, suffered heavy losses. Rain and hail accompanied the storm.

The train house will be 752 feet long with separate tracks for each railroad serving the city, and the structure is expected to be iron.
Boston gentlemen negotiating with Bodwell Water Power Co propose to build a $600,000 cotton mill at Oldtown this season. The project hinges on bonding adjacent Bodwell Power land and town valuation guarantees. If built, a second mill of similar size would follow next year.
