48 Locals Called Out for Nationwide Strike

More than 48 local unions in Boston and New England received an official call for a nationwide strike of telephone and electrical workers. The IBEW based in Springfield Illinois set next Monday at 8 am as the date, though many locals favor waiting for further instructions. The union action would affect over 20 000 workers who already disrupted Boston area telephone service in April.
