Tenth annual parish choir festival at the Advent Church

The tenth annual festival of parish choirs was held at the Church of the Advent yesterday. Ten participating choirs included St Ann’s Dorchester Grace Lawrence Our Saviour Longwood St Ann’s Lowell Grace Medford St Thomas Methuen St Peter’s Salem All Saints Worcester and Advent Boston. Conductor S B Whitney and organist John A Preston led both services. Morning program featured Come Forth O Christian Brothers and other works. Rev. E C Grafton preached. After lunch, choir boys sailed the harbor, returning for a second program at 7 pm with a strong procession. Solo by Hartwell Staples of the Advent choir. Total participants reached 250. crowds attended both services amid elaborate floral decorations.
