Fires Threaten Dressmakers as Building Burns on Boylston Street

A fire at 713 715 Boylston Street caused heavy smoke and water damage to Mme Driscoll’s dressmaking shop while janitor M J Maher and his wife escaped through a roof scuttle in nightclothes. Fire crews confined the blaze to the basement and later reached the third floor. Mme G K Eames at 717 Boylston escaped lightly scathed with minor smoke exposure. Night Watchman Welsh alerted Hereford Street Station.
