Aviators Charles K. Hamilton and Harry N. Atwood staged a sensational flight from Harvard Aviation Field at Squantum to Todesco Country Club in Swampscott. They covered about 30 miles in 42 minutes using a Burgess Wright biplane with dual control splitting the effort.
Thousands greet the two aviators as they travel the overland route from Swampscott Hill to Marblehead and Revere Beach. They land with perilous near skim over wet sands at Revere Beach and thrill onlookers along the Lynn railroad tracks.
A general alarm was sounded at 2 AM for a blaze at the Locke Regulator Company factory on North Street. By 2:30 the fire was under control in a three story frame building with a large capacity garage, with nearby factories and tenements unaffected. No loss estimate yet.
Washington June 7 After four hours of discussion of the Canadian reciprocity bill in executive session Senate finance committee Chairman Penrose said any amendment likely to pass committee would be killed on the Senate floor. Root’s paper and wood pulp clause amendment was deemed fatal to the agreement and no other amendment had a chance in committee.
The danger point on Commonwealth Avenue has been eliminated. The Highway Commission approved the Park Commission action to change traffic rules so that all vehicles, horse drawn and motor driven, will use the right hand driveways rather than the left hand ones.
The Park Commission will implement the rule once notices are posted at intersections in the affected district and advertised in daily papers. Officials are accelerating the process to minimize delay. Continued on page 15.

Attorney Whipple told the court that methods for correcting an error have been agreed upon by all parties. A new petition to probate will be issued in regular channels and witnesses will be sworn, allowing the hearing to proceed without delay. Continued on page second column.
W E D Stokes, owner of the Hotel Ansonia, was shot three times in an apartment shared by Ethel Conrad, 19, and Lillian Graham, 22. Police say both women aided the shooting. Stokes was found on the fourth floor landing with bullets through his leg as he clutched a revolver.
Officers arrest Patrick Casey and two young women after a shooting at a Casey apartment. Miss Conrad fires at Stokes injuring him in the calf while Miss Graham, wielding a pistol, threatens to kill. Stokes, accompanied by an attorney, claims letters were demanded in exchange for returns. Japanese servants intervened. all three women and Stokes faced felonious assault charges.
