Americans Win First Tennis Clash in Davis Cup Contests

Work of Harvard Crews Pleases Wray at Red Top Navy Yard

Harvard varsity and freshman eights raced over the two mile course with the varsity finishing about two lengths ahead. The freshmen used a higher stroke late but could not catch the leaders. Coach Wray praised both eights and the training at John Harvard.

Greek bootblacks organize independently while a meeting to form a Greek union is scheduled for tomorrow. Rumors say strikebreakers may be brought from New York to two Boston shops. Forest Hills stand was the only Elevated outlet open, but it closed as workers arrived.
