A bill to create a new holding company to take over Boston and Maine stock, now controlled by New Haven interests, was approved by the committee on railroads and reported to the Senate after four o clock with three dissents by Robert Washburn Hargis and Scully.

New Jury in Dewey Libel Suit

A juror testified to court alleging that real estate operator and defendant John Mason Little coached a witness in the libel case brought by former Judge Henry S. Dewey. Lawson laughs at engagement story denied

Thomas W. Lawson through his secretary dismissed reports of his engagement to Nellie Peck Jackson Solomon as absolutely false and ridiculous. The claim tied Mrs Solomon to Dr James A Solomon of Dorchester and Portsmith based on Brookline and Huntington Avenue movements. Lawson’s camp called it a joke with no basis in fact.

Auto Severe Injury to Dorchester Boy

Charles J. McCarthy aged 12 of 1230 Blue Hill avenue Dorchester was knocked down by an auto owned and operated by F I Heimer of Norfolk street on Blue Hill avenue near Lauriat avenue last night. He received injuries that may prove fatal.

Battis received three years, McCullough two years, and Cassidy one year in the house of correction after a five hour hearing noted for sensational incidents.

Theatre Burns at Norumbega Park in Auburndale

Fire destroyed the open air theatre at Norumbega Park Auburndale and damaged the women's cottage roof. Loss estimated around 8000 dollars. Fire began about an hour after the evening performance and sparks flew into animal cages causing an uproar though no animal injuries or escapes occurred.
