Newfoundland Railway Survey Planned by British Syndicate
Premier Bond, in London, sent word that English capitalists who won concessions last winter will immediately survey a proposed railway across Newfoundland to connect a steamship service between Ireland and Newfoundland with the mainland. Bond expects to stay abroad until July amid talks with Britain over the American fishery dispute and the Canada Eastern Labrador boundary.

Bearish Market Slide Deepens After Gold Demand

Despite late short covering, most leaders finished lower with Amalgamated and Copper Range among the laggards.
