Bomb Blows Up Roxbury Judge's Home. Family Escapes
A shrapnel bomb planted on the front piazza of Judge Albert F. Hayden’s Roxbury home at 11 Wayne Street exploded about 11 35 last night. The blast shattered windows and hurled nearby residents from their beds. The judge and his family had left for their Plymouth summer home. Malcolm Hayden, sleeping in the house, was two doors away when the explosion occurred. Police believe Bolshevik agitators targeted the judge for sentencing May Day Socialist rioters. The bomb was gas pipe based with a time fuse and caused extensive damage to the residence.
