Curacao June 1 The body of acrobat Murdoch, missing since Friday, was found today floating in the river bearing five wounds to the head. His partner West reported his disappearance and left the city bound for Racine as police seek his arrest. A large sum of money and Murdoch’s watch are missing.
Washington June 1 forecast till 8 p m Monday for New England and eastern New York shows fair, slightly warmer conditions with northwesterly winds. Tuesday expected to be fair, with showers in the afternoon. Mean daily temperature 68.5 degrees, max 80.0, min 53.0. Dew point 45.0, relative humidity 43.5, precipitation 0.00. Max wind 24.0.

A Canal Commission note urges minimal, urgent works at Bay of Lion and mouth of Rio Grande to cut costs.

The Norwegian bark Louis sprang a leak and sank 180 miles from Fastnet Light on May 19 as heavy weather battered her. Captain Jheffermehl and nine crew fought three days at pumps before abandoning ship. Captain was injured, and his seven year old son was rescued. Valued at $35,000.
A Provincetown vessel owned by William H. Rich capsized off Nauset during a 9:30 squall. The captain and an eighteen year old Provincetown youth George Brown escaped into a dory but it capsized and Brown was drowned. Rich reached shore after two hours, aided by Keever Pierce of Station 11. The boat sank in six fathoms of water.
Reports detail fires destroying a large creamery in St. Albans Vermont, a small church blaze in Haverhill Massachusetts, a massive Fort Worth Texas blaze at Spring Palace, and numerous other fires across Kentucky, New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts with extensive property losses and insurance coverage. Key incidents include a destroyed creamery and nearby barns, a church closet fire, a crowded fairground fire, and several urban commercial and residential fires with hundreds of thousands in losses and widespread homelessness.
In San Francisco on June 1 the passenger coach of the wrecked train at the Oakland draw bridge has been hauled onto the beach. No additional bodies were found, and the interior shows the struggle of passengers to escape. Authorities believe all victims are now recovered.
