London May 31 United News Miss Jennie Thomas a Liverpool Royal Insurance clerk bought a sweepstakes ticket in the Calcutta Turf Club lottery. Her stake Captain Cuttle won she sold half the ticket for several thousand pounds and received 58000 pounds or 258000 dollars. If she had kept all, she would have 516000 dollars. The young clerk, under 20, plans to consider income tax costs.

State police discovered this morning the largest free-for-all cock fight likely ever held. Plymouth Rock, boss of Pen, never stood a chance as the brutal melee raged all night. Forty killed and twenty survivors were still at it when found in Springfield on May 31.

Runaway Auto In Wild Race Through Charlestown

An auto owned by George F. Graham of 147 Fuller Street Brookline left in Monument Square Charlestown last evening and sped down Lexington Street hill. The car narrowly missed a girl with a baby carriage and a Bunker Hill trolley before crashing into 26 Lexington Street causing heavy damage to both car and house. Patrolman Peterson stopped the inbound trolley as the danger unfolded with Marion Hayes nearly struck.
